Our 1st annual Jr and Kaye Hausbeck Foundation Award recipients: Jason Vaughn and Yaridtza Bustamonte! Scholarships were awarded last week to two very deserving Club youth. The Jr and Kaye Hausbeck Foundation Award is used by one Saginaw County and one Bay County Club member to further their future endeavors. We are so proud and blessed to honor these two well deserving young people. The Jr and Kaye Hausbeck Foundation Award will be a yearly award for two (2) Boys & Girls Clubs of the Great Lakes Bay Region members (one from Saginaw Co., and one from Bay Co.). We are incredible humbled by Jr, Kaye and their family for honoring our young people and supporting their Great Futures! |

PINCONNING CLUB. The Barcia Family gathered at the Club for the ceremonial ribbon cutting of the Matt Barcia Media Room. Deniege Barcia shared a few words to share why the Media room was so special.
"The Matt Barcia Memorial as a way to honor my brother and keep his memory alive. By giving back to our local community in his honor is a way for his family and friends to create new memories. It has brought me a little comfort in seeing good things can still happen because of Matt.
Matt was a 2002 graduate of Pinconning High School, local farmer and Boilermaker with the Local 169. In the past 10 years we have given away close to $20,000 with $12,500 going to the Boys and Girls Club in Pinconning. We have also sponsored 3 scholarships to Pinconning High School Seniors, supported local golf outing fundraisers, Toys for Tots and the Pinconning food panty Christmas baskets.
We chose to partner with the Boys and Girl Club in Pinconning for our Dueling Pianos Fundraiser in January of 2020. After seeing all the programs they had to offer and learning that they serve up to 90 kids a day, we knew the Boys and Girls club was a good match for us because we wanted to make a bigger impact on the community.
The majority of the funds raised support the new Matt Barcia Media Room where the youth in our community can record music (sing, instrumental etc), they can edit those recordings and create new and unique music and sounds. The room also serves as a photography studio and the members can take photos/videos and then edit those as well. The room is unique in that it was a dream of our youth's, created for our youth and run by the youth! Funding also supplied the Club with a laptop computer dedicated to STEM programming. Rounding out what the funds received from the Matt Barcia Memorial Fund is improved outdoor lighting for the security and safety of the Club members."
We thank Deniege, the Barcia Family and Friends for their generous donation.
