Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
Virtual Clubhouses Available on Zoom
True to our mission, we will do whatever it takes to ensure we can continue to provide high-quality youth development programming in a fun, safe environment. Below are our current virtual programming options, as well as our plans to continue to inspire and enable all young people to reach their full potential:
Great Lakes Clubs at Home: If you are one of our more than 320 members of our Facebook group providing programming for youth and their families, thank you! We hope you enjoy the STEAM, Triple Play, Power Hour and Prevention activities provided each day. We hope to continue to provide daily activities to keep you informed and having fun.
Virtual Clubhouses: This week, each of our five Clubhouses will be setting up virtual Club time for their respective youth and team members. We are so excited to reunite our youth with their favorite staff and program pieces, including Summer Brain Gain, emotional health check-ins, sports trivia and physical challenges, and much more. All youth are invited to participate, please ensure you have submitted the consent form prior to your Club's scheduled Zoom meeting.
And, finally, many of our families have inquired about the Clubs reopening. We are actively working on a plan that will ensure the safety of all of our employees, volunteers, and of course, our kids. We will continue to keep our families informed of timing, safety protocols, space limitations, and all of the factors that will be weighed into the decision of when we reopen. In the interim, we welcome participation in our virtual Clubs, where our staff our working daily to provide a fun, interactive and educational environment for our kids to stay socially-connected.

INTRODUCING GREAT LAKES CLUBS AT HOME
Starting today, we will be providing our program opportunities on our Facebook Group Page "Great Lakes Clubs At Home." These opportunities will include prompts for physical activity, educational exercises, and a STEAM topic each week. We welcome families to participate by posting a video of themselves doing the activities we are challenging youth to do. If you and/or your youth are interested in participating with us, please join our Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1050088515354343/?source_id=184430345360
Next week, we will launch Zoom for our prevention programming. Through hands-on, critical thinking games and real discussions about anxiety, emotions and decision-making, prevention programming helps our youth to learn key life skills for coping. We will be providing a parental consent form to parents so they can opt their child into our virtual experience. The form and more information about setting up a Zoom profile will be available soon.
We are here for our Club families in this uncertain time, and will do all we can to ensure our families and children have what they need. We look forward to connecting with you, our extended family, as we work to fulfill our mission of nourishing character and inspiring potential.

Following the directive of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer today, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Great Lakes Bay Region has extended the closure of our physical sites until April 13.
Our team is working hard to create and implement virtual programming to support our kids at home, who may be feeling isolated in this unprecedented time. Please stay tuned for additional updates.
