I love the Boys & Girls Club because it is a safe place. I especially like the Art Room, because I can show my imagination.

What are Boys & Girls Clubs?
Clubs are community-based organizations that provide young people with a fun, safe and constructive after-school environment. Clubs offer programs and services designed to build character and strengthen life skills. Clubs do not discriminate. Clubs are for boys and girls, and they satisfy the age-old desire of boys and girls to have a “Club” of their own.
Who do Clubs serve?
Boys & Girls Clubs are open to all youth ages 6 to 18 with a special focus on children and teens. Clubs reach out to children in need by giving them support, guidance and hope for the future. Clubs also keep membership dues low and do not turn children away because of an inability to pay. For $75 a year, no one will be deterred from joining.
Where are Clubs located?
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Great Lakes Bay Region currently have five locations: Bay City Unit, Essexville Unit, KidsCampUs Unit, Pinconning Unit, and Saginaw Unit. Boys & Girls Clubs are located in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Many Clubs are actual buildings designed especially for kids with their needs and interests in mind. Other Clubs are located in a variety of settings, including public housing, U.S. Military bases, schools and Native American lands.
What makes Clubs unique?
Clubs are neighborhood-centered. They provide programming in specialized areas. Clubs are staffed by paid, trained youth development professionals. Through a system of informal guidance, Club staff form strong bonds with young people and help them make smart choices in life. For many Club members the staff are the most influential, positive, adult role models in their lives.
Why are Boys & Girls Clubs important?
The Boys & Girls Club Movement upholds the national interest. Today’s boys and girls will become the mainstay of America’s economy, and by aiding these boys and girls in positive development, all of society benefits. Boys & Girls Clubs make lasting impressions on youth by providing and enhancing five key elements: a safe, positive environment, fun, happiness and enjoyment for all members, supportive relationships with adults and peers, high expectations for moral character, and recognition of young people’s accomplishments.
